Canyon Communities staying prepared

Community isn’t measured by how people treat each other on the best days. It’s measured by how connected they remain on the hardest days.

Trusted wildfire preparedness resources for the Highway 38 communities. You don’t have to be a fire expert. Start with one step, stay informed, and stay connected.

Neighbors working together for practical wildfire readiness

FireSafe38.org is the community wildfire-preparedness program of the Mill Creek Canyon Fire Safe Council, a nonprofit organization governed by a local board of directors. Through FireSafe38.org, the council helps residents and property owners throughout the Highway 38 communities find practical information and resources for reducing wildfire risk.

As wildfire conditions and California requirements continue to change, FireSafe38.org helps community members stay informed and better prepared to protect their homes and properties.

A major focus of the program is helping property owners understand, create, and maintain defensible space, that critical buffer between a home and surrounding vegetation that can reduce wildfire risk and improve a structure’s chances of surviving a wildfire.

Whether you are just getting started or looking for current information, FireSafe38.org brings trusted guidance, practical tools, community events, and local resources together in one place, with an emphasis on defensible space, home hardening, and community preparedness.

The Mill Creek Canyon Fire Safe Council is also part of the Inland Empire Fire Safe Alliance (IEFSA), a regional coalition of local Fire Safe Councils, public agencies, and organizations working together to strengthen wildfire preparedness throughout the Inland Empire.
